GREEN TURQUOISE STARBURST

Description

A positively striking pendant of 56 carefully carved separate pieces of green turquoise are each meticulously set in silver, creating a starburst pattern that is approximately two inches in diameter. No two pieces are identical as each has a slightly different shade of green and some pieces contain veins of reddish brown. The necklace is composed of green turquoise in various shapes and interspersed with smoky quartz. The clasp is a toggle clasp that is shaped like leaves on a vine.

Green turquoise is quite rare and considered older than blue turquoise. Native populations in the American Southwest consider green turquoise to symbolize female energy and that it represents Mother Earth.

Smoky quartz, the other gemstone in this necklace and earrings set, is also believed to have strong ties to the earth. It is thought to disperse fear and depression. Smoky quartz is found in numerous places around the globe, including Australia, Switzerland and Mozambique.
