Truly a one-of-a-kind pendant, this remarkable necklace is a collector’s dream. The pendant is a carved image of a woman with a hummingbird hovering over the surrounding flowers. If you look closely, there are even flowers on the top of her head. The beads are red creek jasper except for two large round discs of Picasso jasper. The beauty of these stones is the many subtle earth-tone colors with contrasting veins running through each bead. You might decide to wear this necklace with the back of the pendant instead of the face to show off the beauty of the natural stone.
Red Creek Jasper was named after the creek where it was first discovered in Mainland China in 2010. It has since been found in Utah and South Africa. Although newly discovered, it has become a very popular stone as some beads resemble a painting of a landscape. Jasper stones are known through the ages as a stone of protection and grounding, promoting compassion and self-discipline.
