Amber Nuggets, Diagonal Amber, And Citrine

Very unusual diagonal-cut amber beads of assorted colors interspersed with totally transparent, pale yellow, round citrine beads make this necklace unique. The pendant is comprised of seven amber nuggets.

Amber is an organic material that has been formed over thousands of years and is made up of fossilized natural botanic resins. Sometimes small pieces of organic material are suspended within an amber piece, making it rare indeed. Amber can actually generate an electric charge when rubbed. The Arabic world called this substance “ambar” because it looks similar to a substance found in sperm whales that were used in the making of perfumes. Baltic amber is considered the best. It was formed from coniferous trees 30-60 million years ago. Amber was also used in Ancient Egypt 4,500 years ago. It supposedly carries the vibration of organic life and is believed to be helpful in healing one’s body.

Citrine, the very clear and transparent round beads in this necklace, gets its name from the old French word for lemon, “citron”. It is believed to promote positivity and happiness.
