Unique palm nuts and slices of palm are the accents for this necklace. These palm nuts are boiled and dyed in the tropical rainforests along the South American Pacific Coast. Some groups of indigenous people have cottage industries where they process the palm nuts to be sold and used mainly for jewelry. As with all of nature, no two palm nuts are identical. This necklace was accented with unique hand-painted black wooden beads that show a variety of surface patterns in various shapes.
