Wind Chime Sculpture

Length from top of keychain – 36”

Materials used:

• Green metal birdfeeder;
• keychain as an easy release hanger;
• ribbons in varying lengths and colors attached to the birdfeeder with fishing swivel hooks on one end and with a bell attached at the end of each ribbon;
• one Buddhist chime with four chimes and one metal ring windcatcher;
• 3 long finely-cut teardrop crystals, each 2 ½” long;
• A variety of bells;
• 4 strings of glass crystal beads (blue, green, yellow, red) with one clear crystal bead at the end (attached inside the birdfeeder);
• Handmade abstract-shape, acetate, windcatchers in a variety of colors hanging low to catch the wind.

Those of us who recognize our connection as humans to the elements of the earth are in celebration with these elements at every opportunity. Thus, this sculptural bird feeder will help you do just that. Take a break. Sit and listen to the wind in the bells and the meditative chimes. Watch the crystals dance in the sparkling sunlight and experience the various colored shapes at the bottom of the wind chime as the wind creates new colors as one shape is seen in combination with a different color.

This wind chime is lightweight and is sold with a snap-apart keychain fastener at the top to easily remove the wind chime where it hangs if desired. Over time the wind will “braid” the ribbons. You can leave them braided or become part of the process and lovingly unbraid them and then watch the wind braid them back again.
Each ribbon is fastened with a spinning fishing line swivel and a drop of Super Glue. The ribbons and their bells are quite durable. This sculpture is unique and made to dazzle.
